The term "diet" has grown to be the taboo word in the English language. I do not understand how sometimes I have cringed every time I heard that awful word. People automatically think whenever they hear "diet" that it is time to quit eating! Not true. I don't have confidence in the name diet because it is not about that. It's all about being able to eat what you want in moderation. You do not need to eliminate all the favorite foods in your everyday diet. That is just torture. People have made millions on gimmick diet programs that simply do not work as you end up limiting yourself to food items you really do not want to eat all the time. An excellent diet involves eating what you want in moderation and common sense planning of your daily intake.
The human body adapts to routine and we all have to change it up every now and then. My concept of a so-called diet plan is eating however much I want well within moderation and ensuring that I have the needed daily exercise that can be from around a walk around the block or even working out in my own home. Each person is unique as far as the way their body breaks down and uses calories they ingest and work off. This's all common sense. Let's face it. None of us like that fiendish word "diet." It is scary! I actually hate that word. I watch these talk shows and so they go into people's homes and take everything out of their house that's supposedly not healthy. It might not be healthy however, you can still eat it but in moderation. You should never have to restrict yourself on what you would like to eat, rather, but, just how much you eat in a time. That is the key! If you don't eat big meals, the stomach of yours will shrink, along with, as a result, you'll lose weight. It won't take so much food the when you eat. The Medical Field is one of the worse offenders. They come up with a new study virtually every month stating when you eat this you can lose weight. Subsequently a month or 2 later there is another study by some other institute saying the opposite. Take a great close look at everything you do and everything you take in every day and plan accordingly. If you are not hungry DON'T EAT!! Listen to your body. You crave certain foods because the body of yours needs it. Just watch how much you eat. Do not eat like it's Thanksgiving at every meal. That will stretch out the stomach of yours and also the the next time eating it will take more to fill you up and so on, etc, etc etc etc... Next thing you know you're 100 lbs over weight.
The bottom line is you are able to eat what you want but have a bit of self control and recognize when you should take the fork from your mouth!! The reverse side of this particular coin is "EXERCISE". Diet by itself won't undertake it.
