Q. Shawn, how could you describe the first experiences of yours with affiliate
marketing?
A. It had been again in 1997. I'd a dial-up account on AOL, a 14.4 modem and
a preference to make extra money. At the time, I did not understand a thing about
creating websites, marketing, etc. however, I went by way of a tutorial at AOL on
writing HTML and also picked up the fundamentals. Next, I created a hideous, single
page website about New York City and install some Amazon links. I never earned
a cent on that website.
Q. What growing aches did you endure at ifrst glance? What were the biggest
obstacles and challenges from that period of time?
A. Back then, there would have been a monopoly on registering - https://Twitter.com/search?q=registering&src=typd domains, and it cost
$35 a season. At the time, that was somewhat prohibitive for me (I didn't
realize what an excellent investment a quick name will be). That was a trend -
an unwillingness to buy my affiliate marketing efforts. I was heading the free
path with equipment, hosting, etc. That undoubtedly delayed the progress of mine.
Q. What was your first "Ah-ha" moment? How did you incorporate the
lesson learned into your online marketing corporation?
A. The first time I got the reporting of mine via email from Amazon with
information on commission earned. In the past, there was no choice to login
to an interface - just a periodic email with affiliate marketing stats. When I
realized - https://slashdot.org/index2.pl?fhfilter=realized it was serious that I could earn money this way, I was excited ecommerce platform as a service - https://www.peninsuladailynews.com/national-marketplace/kibo-eclipse-rev... well as motivated. This persuaded me I was wasting the time of mine working in
magazine posting - it was time for me to end up in a type of work that had been rewarding and stimulating.
With my limited online marketing knowledge, I managed to get a task with a start up in 1997 called Medsite.com, and I bluffed my way into
running the affiliate program there. I've enjoyed the business of mine ever since.
